VICE UK has published a large interview with Bob Basset cofounder Oleh Petrov.

“Most of my products have never been made before. It’s about accepting a challenge and asking myself ‘Can I or can’t I do it?’ I like to resolve almost impossible tasks, and when I finish an item I lose interest and have to have a new goal. Because of this I do not like to repeat things I’ve done already. I’d prefer to try something new and go forward. I have a workshop and a team of crazy people who like to do these things together with me,” Oleh Petrov told Nina Byttebier.

Update: In 2011, VICE Fashion editor Daryoush Haj-Najafi visited the Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days in Ukraine, where he met Bob Basset cofounder Serhii Petrov. In an interview with a local TV station, Mr. Haj-Najafi said, “The only thing I knew about Ukraine was Bob Basset. It’s my favorite Ukrainian designer. He makes crazy things out of leather, creating something amazingly weird and powerful. This is world class stuff!”
